Preparing Your DIY Cake Mix

These instructions are for Full Batches, or 6 cupcakes if you want to just make a small amount, and a 1-minute Cake in a Mug option.

CAKE IN A MUG INSTRUCTIONS:
Place 5 Tablespoons of any DIY mix into a microwave safe mug. Add 3 tablespoons milk or water, 2 tablespoons veg. oil, and 1/4 teaspoon vinegar. Mix well with a fork, microwave 1 minute. fullsizerender-12Test with a knife to make sure it’s baked through, microwave times vary. Let it cool for a few minutes and then add a large scoop of icecream to the top, find yourself a cozy place to contemplate life and enjoy!fullsizerender-10


Vanilla Cake Preparation, Full Batch
(amounts for 6 cupcakes in brackets)

  • 1 entire batch (1 jar) of Vanilla Cake Mix (Roughly 1/3 the jar)
  • 3/4 cups veg. oil (1/4 cup)
  • 3/4 cups of either water, milk, almond milk, or whey (1/4 cup)
  • 3 large eggs (1 large egg)
  • 1 tsp flavouring (almond extract or vanilla extract) IF you omitted vanilla powder from your dry mix. (1/2 tsp. flavouring)

Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until you have a smooth batter. Fold in chocolate chips or sprinkles with a spatula if desired.

This will make 1 9×13 sheet cake, or 18 cupcakes. (6 cupcakes)img_6434


Chocolate Cake Preparation, Full Batch
(amounts for 6 cupcakes in brackets)

  • 1 entire batch (1 jar) of Chocolate Cake Mix (Roughly 1/3 the jar)
  • 3/4 cups veg. oil (1/4 cup)
  • 1.25 cups of either water, milk, almond milk, or whey (1/2 cup)
  • 3 large eggs (1 large egg)

Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until you have a smooth batter.

This will make 1 9×13 sheet cake, or 18 cupcakes. (6 cupcakes)


GLUTEN FREE Cake Preparation, Full Batch
(amounts for 6 cupcakes in brackets)

  • 1 entire batch (1 jar) of Chocolate Cake Mix (Roughly 1/3 the jar)
  • 3/4 cups veg. oil (1/4 cup)
  • 1.25 cups of either water, milk, almond milk, or whey (1/2 cup)
  • 3 large eggs (1 large egg)

Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until you have a smooth batter.
