With another major snow storm approaching its hard to believe we’re in the first week of March. 30 – 50 cm’s is a LOT, especially when you live on a street where the city doesnt plow, and when you live in a house which requires shovelling the driveway and walkway just to be able to park and walk. I’m hoping that all this bad weather will just make me more appreciative when the spring comes 🙂
Since the weather hasnt co-operated I’ve tried to act like spring is around the corner by focussing on other things. For one – Greg and I’s wedding! The wedding invites are in today from the printers so that means next week Pauline and I will be getting together to put them together and send them out. I’ve also started getting things together for the wedding favors (its a surprise) and from what I hear, plans for my bridal shower are under way. 9 weeks left to go and then I’m Mrs. Greg Robinson 😀 OR, as Becky put it – 9 weeks left until its almost her birthday. What a little diva 😀
Another spring time activity is bbq’ing, which was last night. I had a fabulous bbq’d dinner at mom and dads of pork chops, asparagus and potatos. Salad was the starter and smores was the dessert and other than moms fresh baked bread it was all made by my sister Melissa. Yup, thats right – I said MELISSA! She spent the afternoon at mom and dads and made dinner for the family, a very nice and rare treat. Afterwards dad and I watched a documentary on the energy crisis and mom and I knit. It was a nice way to spend the evening.
Tomorrow, Greg and I will spend the day surrounded by heat, vegetation and butterflies in another attempt to embrace Spring. For our Saturday date we’ll be going to the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory and I cant wait! I’ve never been there before and I’m just thrilled that we’re going! We’ll also try to get in some tobagganing, but right now I hate winter so I’m not saying anything nice about it 😛
Yesterday I noticed big fat buds on the branches of my little lilac tree and smiled. I only have to pretend that spring is here for a little while longer, and then I can enjoy the real thing 🙂
