Tooth Paste

4 weeks ago I went shopping for new tooth paste and after much contemplation I opted to go the health-nut route and purchased some natural tooth paste, lightly flavored with real peppermint oil.  Everything went well for about 2 weeks but then I started noticing that by late morning my mouth didnt feel very fresh.  By the third week, my mouth only felt fresh for about 20 minutes after brushing and by last week I was starting to have bad breath – no one should ever notice their own bad breath! It was terrible.  I decided that maybe the natural tooth paste was to blame and decided right then and there to go out after work and buy some new stuff.

I must have read every label and finally decided on "crest total" – they have a few types for this toothpaste and the one I picked up was the one that said it was "dentist quality".  Since it was in a silver box I figured it MUST be good 😛 (pssst – It was also on sale).  Its really gritty and grainy, just like the abrasive stuff they use at the dentists, and no matter how long you brush it doesnt get foamy at all.  Its like scrubbing your teeth with peppermint sand, and its FABULOUS! It also promises 12 hours of protection – something I wouldnt usually pay attention too but I DID notice that when I wake up in the morning my mouth still feels really clean. On top of that, I bought a new toothbrush, the Oral B Massager, the massage part coming from these weird plastic stabby-thingys that are on either side of the brush head. For some reason, when I feel those weird plastic fangs digging into my gums it just makes me feel like I’m getting a really good cleaning 😀

  1. oh! i’ve been wanting that tooth brush for so long!  i have to wait until i run out of my costco stash of the oral b ones with the tongue and cheek scrubber (they’re wonderful, the head feels like it’s hugging your teeth and you feel SO clean when you get that tongue!).  you totally win ‘best blog of the year’ for blogging about oral hygiene!
